What is OKB?

OKB is a cryptocurrency created by the OK Blockchain Foundation and OKEx, a Maltese cryptocurrency exchange. The exchange is one of the largest in the world, ranking third in liquidity, fourth in trading volume, and offering a diverse range of trading pairs. OKEx is similar to the cryptocurrency exchange giant Binance in many ways, but there are a few key differences.

The OKEx platform has its own cloud mining service, and the company has a more focused reach in terms of providing users with options trading. Meanwhile, Binance strives to provide a diverse range of cryptocurrency services globally.

Since its inception in 2017, OKEx has grown to become a world-class trading floor. The platform debuted in the spring of 2017 as an offshoot of the original OKCoin platform (operating since 2013 in China). OKCoin now focuses on exchanging fiat for crypto, whereas OKEx focuses on crypto trading with an API for algorithmic trading built in. The exchange also provides users with a multi-currency wallet and margin trading functions.

Who are the founders of OKB?

Jay Hao has been the CEO of OKEx since its inception, and he still is. Hao has made a career out of technology and engineering. He has been following the blockchain industry for a long time, with a particular interest in blockchain-based apps for video streaming and mobile gaming. Hao had twenty years of experience in the semiconductor industry prior to joining OKEx. He has created a wide range of codecs, including UVLED, ASIC, FPGA, and multimedia codecs, as well as SOCs for multimedia processors. Hao gained valuable experience in product development and management during this time.

Mingxing “Star” Xu is another important member of the management team. He established OKCoin in China in 2013 and has built a solid reputation in the industry. Xu co-founded the separate OKEx exchange in Malta in 2017, which operates as a separate legal entity. Xu is now the CEO of the OK Group.

Where can OKB be traded?

The simplest way to obtain OKB coins is to purchase them through OKEx. There are, however, numerous alternative cryptocurrency exchanges where you can buy or sell the token. OKEx, FTX, Gate.io, Uniswap (V2), HitBTC, BiONE, LBank, Hotcoin Global, Coin Ex, ProBit Global, and Hotbit are among them.
